News of the happiest sort!

When I first created this blog, I accomplished step one of the things I had to do once I got married--namely, creating a blog! But now this blog will serve a better purpose as step two has been accomplished...

That's right! We found out yesterday that I'm pregnant! We just can't help but share with everyone because we are so excited and absolutely besides ourselves with joy!

Journey to employment

Today was just one of those days that I can look back on and just laugh.

It started out with the phone call I received during my Children's Sewing class. Running out of the room, not literally of course, I secretly answered my cellphone in hopes that it was good news. The previous week I had a wonderful interview for a seamstressing position; it turned out so well and the lady was so impressed with my work and experience--I was just confident I would be hired!

So with hope I waited with baited breath...to hear she chose someone else for the job. I was very disappointed and started feeling down about my sewing abilities, and I re-entered the classroom to continue working. I then made a mistake when serging the baby bib. And if you know what a serger is, you'll know that mistakes cannot be undone! It wasn't perfect as I turned it in...adding salt to the wound.

Finally class ended and I left, hopped onto my bike, rode past the stadium and ice-cream shop and toward the park. JUST as I started riding through the park the sprinklers turned on and hit me in the face! After getting hit in the face a few times I arrived home, parked my bike and went inside. Then came the regular routine--checking my emails, looking at facebook, checking deviantArt, and finally the school's website. I made it to the on-campus employment page as I usually do to find a couple custodial jobs posted.

It was like Heavenly Father was saying "Look, here's a job for you. GO get it!". With a groan, I threw on my shoes again, got on my bike again, rode through the park and got hit in the face repeatedly by sprinklers...again, rode up the hill and into the Physical Plant building--red in the face, wet, and completely out of breath. Part of me expected the jobs to be gone already since they disappear so fast, but I was the first one there! I took the job straight away and filled out the paperwork. Yay!

And then the ride home wasn't too exciting as I rode down the hill past the stadium again, past the ice-cream shop again, through the park and you guessed it! ...I got pelted in the face repeatedly by the sprinklers.

Even though by the time I got home I was absolutely wet, I am so thankful to finally have a part-time job (even though it's at 4am!). Our Heavenly Father always opens another door when one closes, and this I am so thankful for.

Our first post!

I was told once that when I got married, I had to make a blog and babies. Well, I made a blog! Babies on the other hand, will come when the time is right.

So how are things in Rexburg?

It's a roller coaster of changing weather. It's warm one day, and it snows the next. At times you wonder if spring will ever really come? It seems more like an in-between winter/spring, that I'm sure will suddenly become summer when the calendar changes to June.

The end of the semester is a week from tomorrow. Oh how time flies!! We'll be done with the classes we have, and though it was a good experience, we're ready to move onto another set of classes. We feel so blessed to also have General Conference right at the end of the semester. One of two wonderful times of the year, to hear the words from our Heavenly Father, through his Prophet and Apostles.

And with that, I make an end of this post. :)
